The Kraft Center

Dedicated in 2000, and located on West 115th Street, just west (across Broadway) of the campus, the Kraft Center was made possible through collaboration with Columbia University.  The Kraft Center houses all aspects of Jewish life. It is home to a wide range of social, cultural, religious and educational activities. Columbia/Barnard Hillel welcomes all members of the Columbia and Barnard communities for celebration and worship, learning and living.

2nd Floor:  Sulzberger Lounge, Bishop Library and Café Nana

The Lounge includes Turkish tented hanging out spaced and  internet terminals;  the Library houses books, reference works, and journals for research as well as magazines and newspapers for personal reading and relaxation; and Café Nana, a café specializing in middle eastern cuisine (and pizza too).

3rd Floor:  Hillel Office and Alexander Program Center

This inviting area is where students socialize, plan activities and meet with our staff. There are offices and work areas for our rabbinic, program, development, and administrative staff as well as a student office.

4th Floor:  Kazis Beit Midrash and Multi-Use Rooms

The Beit Midrash is designated for partner study. The Deresiewicz Collection forms the bulk of the volumes. The Wouk and Krueger rooms and the one other multi-use room, are all used for classes, meetings, and small programs.

5th Floor:  Auditorium

This room (seats 140) is used for lectures, social events, dinners, religious services, and films.
